ACCIDENT TIME  NOV. 11,  5:30 PM
Nov. 11 7:15 PM
Friends! Please be praying. We are in Puerto right now. We had planned on flying to Managua tomorrow to get our residencies renewed. This afternoon Dad and Chris went into town to see after some business. We just got word that they were in and accident and hit a guy on a motorcycle. Both our guys are totally fine but they say the guy on the motor cycle won’t live till morning. If the guy lives everything ought to be fine, but if he dies Dad will most likely be going to prison.
WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS, PLEASE! Thanks! *Sarah*

Update on what is going on with my Dad.
I just talked with Chris. Like I mentioned before they will most likely be holding Dad over night. The longest they can hold him is 72 hours. Right now the lawyer is afraid the charges will land on my Dad and he could get a five year sentence. Chris believes we have favor with the cops, but that is also not for sure. We will not be getting the truck back for quite a while as we found out we don’t have quite all the papers we need. The rest of us will be going on to Managua tomorrow to start the process of renewing our residencies, but Dad will have to be staying her till this is all worked out. Please continue to pray. I know God will work this out only for his good.

Update!
Chris came home, but Dad is staying the night at the police station. Basically they are waiting to see if the guy will die or not. If the guy dies according to the law Dad would automatically get a three to five year prison sentence or deported out of the country. If the guy lives it will be a process. The Doctor says the guy’s liver is busted and they are doing immediate emergency surgery. He also says the guy is in a little better condition at this point then at first, but still serious. The Doctor is a great Christian friend of ours. Please pray that god would guild his hands as he performs the surgery. Please continue to pray.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

Update!
We talked with the lawyer this morning. He says either today or tomorrow they will be ruling if Dad can come out on house arrest or stay in jail till the trial. The Father of the young Man that died is a pastor and right now is being very cooperative with us. The young man was driving really fast and hit Dads truck. He didn’t have a license or helmet.
The Lawyer believes with this in our favor and beings that Dad has a clean record even if Dad gets a sentence he may not need to spend any jail time after he is released today or tomorrow. We are praying they let him out on suspended sentence. Please keep praying.

This is Eli.
Praise the Lord God Almighty! Wow, I have to say that I’m overwhelmed by all the people praying for us and the other family, and all the kind words. Thank you doesn’t come close to expressing my gratefulness to all of you for standing with us in prayer. My heart is still heavy for the family who lost their son.
Today has been a wonderful day. Through several miracles and God appointments, I have been set free, with a promise to pay the boys family a years wages and the bike (which is customary here), which comes out to $7000. dollars. It is a lot of money, but the agreement with the family has kept me from doing prison time and have a bad record. And let me tell you, that is not a pleasant place to be in.
In this country the laws are different from what they are in the States, and even though everyone involved knew that the accident was not my fault, because I had the biggest vehicle and the most money, and the other person died, then the blame goes to me. Even though the person didn’t have a drivers license, didn’t have his bike registered, was going more than twice the speed limit, and was drinking.
We have fifteen days to pay this amount to keep me from having to go to prison. If anyone would like to help out with this, you may give through New Harmony Church, or go to our website and give through that. Thanks again for praying for me and my family, as well as for the boys family. https://religiontorelationship.org/contribute/

Praising God, my Dad was released this afternoon in the face of the impossible. So much was working against him today but God put people in the courtroom and in every situation to work in our favor. With so many people working against us and trying to do things behind closed doors it is only by HIS WONDERFUL and AMAZING GRACE that my dad will not be serving 5 years.
Please continue to pray for us. There is still so much to be worked out but we believe with God it will all soon be settled. Mary Lee

Psalm 124
1. What if the Lord had not been on our side? Let all Israel repeat: 2. What if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us? 3. They would have swallowed us alive in their burning anger. 4. The waters would have engulfed us; a torrent would have overwhelmed us. 5. Yes, the raging waters of their fury would have overwhelmed our very lives. 6. Praise the Lord, who did not let their teeth tear us apart!  7. We escaped like a bird from a hunter’s trap. The trap is broken and we are free! 8. Our help is from the Lord who made heaven and earth. Leah Lee

About the incident last week;
We know that God is always faithful, and we can always trust Him. Sometimes we have a hard time seeing it when we are in the middle of something that hurts, or we don’t understand. Through all that happened last week, I was able to have God’s peace throughout all of it, being convinced that this did not take Him by surprise, but that He already had a plan worked out that would bring glory to Himself. And man did He ever!
Let me tell you, what I went through last week was not fun, and I did not like it one bit. And I hope I don’t ever have to again. But you know what? It gave me a better perspective about suffering unjustly, even though they didn’t beat me or hurt me. I really was reminded about how Jesus suffered so immensely, even though He did nothing wrong himself, but took the blame for the wrongs we have done.
I look back and remember how eager I was to take the first chance they gave me to go free. But when Jesus suffered unjustly, He could have at any minute called in legions of angles to set Him free, yet He didn’t. Why? Because He was thinking about you and me, how we would have to suffer for eternity, separated from Him. It was because of His Love for His Father and His Love for us that he chose to do it.
Then I have to wonder, what about those 200+ people who were in that house with me. If I would have to spend 3 or 5 years in there with them, how many of them would come to accept the gift of salvation? I already know that I would have had a real hard time with being willing to do that.
I praise God for the one who did find out the truth while I was in there, who had been searching the scriptures and praying daily that God would show him the truth. He had read the bible all the way through in this last year, but had many unanswered questions. So I believe that God had a divine appointment for me to be in there to answer his questions, and then send me on about the other work He has brought us here for. Would you please pray for this new believer George Smith, that the Holy Spirit would continue to reveal the truth of the scriptures to him, and that Gods peace would rest on him as he serves another 7 years. He is also sick with diabetes without any medicine to help control it.
All this being said, I do not know how the young person dying fit into all of Gods plan. I can not imagine how the parents must feel, because they had pleaded and argued with him that night to not go out and party again, but he got angry at them and went anyway. So please continue to pray for them as they try to cope with the grief.
Thank y’all so much for praying for me and my family while all this was taking place. Through the prayers of the faithful saints, much is accomplished. And I have faith that the $7000.00 for the other family will be there by Wednesday the 27th. Please continue to pray for our family, that through this we will learn to trust God to the extent that we will not get anxious when He wants to use us for an unexpected errand, and also to make us willing to do whatever He asks us to do. Eli  Lee

To all of our friends who have been praying and giving for the purpose of paying the $7000. required for the other family in the accident. We have now received the full amount and have paid it, so the case is being closed now. Praise be to our Glorious Father.
I don’t know how to express my gratitude to all of you. This has been quite a journey of faith, and it’s been amazing to see one thing after another happen that were impossible without God in the equation. You all have just been used by God to make some of that impossible happen.
I am also humbled by how many believers we didn’t even know got involved in praying and giving. It has been such a clear picture of how the body of Christ works. When the Holy Spirit spoke, people responded, and were used by God to accomplish what He wanted to do.
We pray that God would take and bless your efforts so that you would not be able to contain all of them. Thank you! Thank you!! from the depth of my heart. Blessings! Eli Lee
